SEA RESERVE PUNTA CAMPANELLA
Extreme ramification of the Sorrento coast , wchich divides the Gulf of Naples from the one of Sorrento, Punta Campanella is classified as natural integral reserve - terrestrial and sea park of protection. For what concerns the vegetation, notable is the presence of mediterranean stain which offers rosemary, myrtle, juniper, mastic and wild olive tree, and also the rare dwarf palm. The cultivated zone behind the inhabited area of Nerano constitutes an important point of standstill and food for the migratory birds. It's signalled the presence of some couples nesting of wandering hawk.The institution of the Protected Sea Reserve "Punta Campanella", has the purpose to preserve one of the more beautiful and luxuriant lines of the Italian coast from the naturalistic point of view, both for the terrestrial and underwater environment . The around 40 Kms of coast of the Sorrento coast are characterized by greens promontories and pleasant inlets, as the famous Bay of Ieranto that offers an unique landscape to the spectator for its beauty.
HOW TO ARRIVE
By car
From Naples continue on the Highway A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria up to the exit
of Castellammare di Stabia; enter the SS 145 and follow the indications for
Sorrento and therefore for Massa Lubrense; When you arrive to Piazza Vescovado
park the car in one of the neighboring parking lot and continue afoot for Palace
Vespoli in Viale Filangieri where there is the center of the Reserve.
By train
Stations:
From station of Naples in Piazza Garibaldi , reach Sorrento by the railway line
Circumvesuviana. From there continue for Massa Lubrense by bus "Sita"
that will stop to Viale Filangieri where there is the center of the Reserve.
By plane
Airports:
From the airport of Capodichino take the bus of the "Curreri" up to
Sorrento, then continue for Massa Lubrenseby bus "Sita" that will
stop to Viale Filangieri where there is the center of the Reserve.
