In Campania norms of safeguard and the provisional perimetrations related to ten of the eleven protected areas forecasted by the regional law have recently been emanated . Among the regional reserves perimetrated, there is also that of Partenio, which extends for around 15.600 hectares in the provinces of Avellino, Benevento, Caserta and Naples and protects the mountainous chain from which takes its name, where we find wolves, martens, badgers, sparrow hawks, buzzards, common owls, various kinds of woodpeckers and numerous kinds of reptiles, also rare. It is now however necessary that these parks don't exist only on the paper: there is nothing worse of a reserve realized for half a part and not in its managerial phase that concretizes the guardianship of the natural patrimony conjugating it with the economic, social and cultural demands of the local populations. The percentage of protected areas in Campania would amount so to the 25% of the whole regional surface, that is of 13.595,33 kmq, equal to few more than the 4,5% of the national one. For Campania, that is the second Italian region for number of inhabitants (5,8 million, the 10,6% of the whole Italian population) which boasts important natural resources, the institution of national and regional parks, oasis and protected areas represents therefore a big bet.
