NATURAL REGIONAL RESERVE ESTUARY SELE AND TANAGRO
It extends for approximately 7.000 hectares, includes the coastal area with pine-woods, estuary of Sele and the rivers Sele and Tanagro for an area of 150 meters from the banks. It protects therefore one of the rivers naturalistically more important in Italy with its wet forests, its aquatic canes field, the otter and many migratory birds , which spend winter and make their nest here. In the Reserve there is the Wwf Oasis of Serre-Persano.As fauna there are: the real ducks, folaghe, cormorants, herons, germaniums, alzavole.The Sele river, after crossing for approximately 15 Km the territory of Eboli, finishes its way to Estuary Sele, where flows into the Tyrrhenian sea. The fluvial zone leaves the place to an immense sea zone constituted by sea, beach, with clear and most fine sand, and an immense pine wood characterized by a Mediterranean spot that extends for approximately 8 Km. Great part of the oasis, covered essentially by pines, offers, in the warmer hours, relief to people want to enjoy a day in contact with nature.The Reserve includes the Oasis wwf of Persano.
HOW TO ARRIVE
By car From Salerno (A3) exit Campagna. take, on the left, the straight road(1,250 m) that takes to the SS19; take the crossroad for Falzia and reach the oasis.
