NATURAL AREAS PROCIDA AND VIVARA ISLANDS
Proposed as sea parks, Procida and Vivara are two volcanic islands. Vivara, currently uninhabited, is an oasis of protection of the fauna, by now habitat of over 180 kinds of birds. The woods of the two islands are characterized by the presence of the roverella, while the low stain, formed by myrtle, mastic and ogliastra, covers the most arid and warm zones and the slopes to greater slant and closer to the sea. Interesting above all the environments of the coast: in the northern zone of Procida there are numerous small caves, among which the Green Cave, called also of the Sea Ox. The northern backdrops of both the islands are rich of grasslands of posidonia, those southern are very steep.
